Edtech Company Learnosity Receives Investment from Battery Ventures

Learnosity, a Dublin, Ireland-based EdTech company, received a significant investment from technology-focused investment firm Battery Ventures.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed. In conjunction with the funding, Battery General Partner Russell Fleischer will join the Learnosity board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to target additional markets beyond K-12 education such as corporate learning, adult/vocational learning, and test preparation, to continue its global expansion and to explore further growth through acquisitions.

Founded in 2007 by Gavin Cooney, CEO, Learnosity is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company specializing in digital learning technology, which allows organizations from a wide range of sectors to incorporate assessment capabilities into any digital product.
The company already powers digital assessments for many big names in education, including Big Ideas Learning, CenterPoint Learning (formerly Parcc Inc.), HMH, Mathletics, and Pearson.

Learnosity has an R&D team in Sydney, Australia and US offices in New York and Los Angeles.
