RapidSOS Raises $16M in Funding

RapidSOS, a NYC-based advanced emergency technology company, raised $16m in funding.

The round was led by Highland Capital Partners with participation from Microsoft Ventures and CSAA Insurance Group, and Forté Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand nationwide.

Founded in 2013 and led by Michael Martin, CEO, RapidSOS provides an advanced emergency platform to link Internet of Things (IoT) devices directly to 9-1-1 and first responders in emergency response. By analyzing data around when and where emergencies are occurring, RapidSOS is developing technology to predict and preempt emergencies and dynamically warn people in harm’s way.
