Pusher Raises $8M in Series A Funding

Pusher, a London, UK-based realtime API company that allows developers to add communication and collaboration features to their apps, raised an $8m Series A funding.

The round was led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Heavybit.

The company intends to use the funds to ramp-up its commercial efforts, opening an office in San Francisco, and to boost R&D efforts to expand its range of products.

Founded in 2011 by Max Williams, Pusher provides developer tools that allows communication and collaboration APIs to power web and mobile applications all over the world. With its core product, Channels, developers can create interactive features such as in-app notifications, activity streams, chat, real-time dashboards and multi-user collaborative apps.
The platform has over 200,000 developer customers across 170 countries.

Based in London, Pusher currently employs 60 people and is hiring
