Fleetsmith Raises $7.7M in Series A Funding

Fleetsmith, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of secure, automated Apple device management, raised $7.7m in Series A funding.

Backers included Upfront Ventures, and seed investors Index Ventures and Harrison Metal. In conjunction with the funding, Luke Kanies, founder of enterprise IT automation platform provider Puppet, is joining the Fleetsmith Advisory Board.

The company, which has raised over $10m in total funding, will use the capital to expand across every department, including engineering, product, design, sales and marketing, and add new functions such as dedicated customer support, account executives, content marketing and analysts.

Led by Zack Blum, CEO and cofounder, Fleetsmith automatically manages apps, settings and security preferences across a company’s Apple device fleet. The product – now out of beta and generally available – unifies IT processes across an organization’s entire fleet of Apple devices during deployment, ongoing maintenance and management, reassignment, and retirement, giving organizations the opportunity to securely add or update whichever devices they want, when they want.
