Farmwise, a Boston, Massachusetts-based food company, closed a $4.5m financing round.
The round was led by Cleveland Avenue, the venture capital firm founded by Don Thompson, former President and CEO of McDonald’s Corporation, with participation from Home Market Foods, Inc.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Founded in 2014 by Dave and Cristina Peters, Farmwise is a food company whose products are made from real, farm-grown vegetables and beans, are Non-GMO Project Verified, free of the top 8 allergens, vegan friendly, provide a fiber, 3+ grams of protein and Vitamin A, C and/or K.
Farmwise products – Veggie Fries®, Veggie Tots® (Broccoli, Cauliflower and Beets) and Veggie Rings™ (Cauliflower and Butternut Squash) – are found in over 8,000 supermarkets in the USA.
