Panasonic Corporation (TOKYO:6752) is teaming up with Scrum Ventures, a San Francisco based early-stage venture capital firm, to launch a new initiative aimed at enabling a new generation of products.
BeeEdge, this is the name of the program, will act as an accelerator aimed at identifying technologies within Panasonic that are not fully utilized and creating independent startups to commercially develop them.
Panasonic and Scrum will bring their experience collaborating with and supporting entrepreneurs. Panasonic has been increasing its investment to create new consumer electronic experiences and businesses for the next generation.
Scrum Ventures is a seed stage venture firm investing across a range of industries in the U.S. and Asia. Portfolio companies include LeTote, Kidadaptive, LiveLike, and Realtime Robotics, among others.
