Circular Wave Drive Raises $900K in Seed Funding

Circular Wave Drive, a Columbus, Ohio-based technology company that manufactures compact speed-reducing gears for robotics and applications, raised $900k in seed funding, capping off a $2m total seed investment.

The round was led by Ikove Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to further invest in research and development, talent acquisition and international growth, as it expands its offices to China.

Led by Dr. Robert Lee, Circular Wave Drive has advanced speed reduction technology which enables a full product line of low-cost, compact, highly-efficient speed-reducing gearing systems for use in multiple fields. The technology was developed by Dr. Yuanfang Zheng, a Winbiger Endowed Chair professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at The Ohio State University.
