Zebra Fuel Raises $2.5M in Funding

Zebra Fuel, a London, UK-based on-demand energy startup which delivers fuel directly to vehicles, raised $2.5m (£1.8m) in seed funding.

The round – which brings the total raised by Zebra Fuel to $3m – was led by LocalGlobe, with participation from Brent Hoberman’s Firstminute Capital and ‘super angel’ Zoopla founder Alex Chesterman.

The company inrends to use the funds to grow their 30-strong team, increase their fleet of vans and drivers, and focus on growth.

Founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Reda Bennis and Romain Saint Guilhem, Zebra Fuel brings fuel directly to businesses or individuals who order a refill online, this reducing costs and inefficiencies of petrol stations, removing the need for a driver to travel to a petrol station and back and cutting emissions.
The company already offers customers diesel, dispensed from vans driven by certified professional drivers, with petrol and electric becoming available soon. Currently only available in London, Zebra Fuel will launch in Paris later this year and will be present in four European capitals within two years.

Its next product will be ZebraBio – Zebra-exclusive eco-friendly clean diesel which will help improve air quality – while it will also offer hydrogen when that technology becomes more widespread.
