QuasarDB Raises $2.5M in Seed Funding

QuasarDB, a Paris, France-based developer of technologies to handle massive amounts of data in real time, primarily for financial markets, closed $2.5m in seed funding.

The round, which brought total funding to $3.5m, was led by Partech Ventures with participation from Orolia and other private investors.

The company intends to use the funds to increase its sales and marketing efforts in the USA.

Led by CEO and founder Edouard Alligand, QuasarDB provides financial companies with an advanced database that solves large numerical data problems as fast as possible. This year quantitative analysts at major Wall Street firms beta-tested the QuasarDB time series database to solve a lot of difficult performance and scalability problems, enabling them to focus on market analysis and strategies.
