onXmaps, Inc., a Missoula, Mont.-based & provider of a mobile mapping technology app for outdoor adventurers, raised $20.3m in funding.
The round was led by global growth equity investor Summit Partners with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Millennium Technology Value Partners, Next Frontier Capital and Steve Burke (CEO NBCUniversal).
The company intends to use the funds to expand the teams at its Missoula and Bozeman, Montana, offices, to continue building all aspects of its mapping solutions, and to assemble the definitive off-pavement mapping data set.
Founded in 2009 and led by Eric Siegfried, CEO, onX provides onX Hunt, which allows hundreds of thousands of outdoorspeople to navigate public and private lands. The company, which now employs nearly 70 people, aggregates nationwide data on property ownership, trails, permitted land use, and many other parameters.
