Invitalia Ventures Appoints Sergio Buonanno as CEO

Invitalia Ventures, the venture arm of Invitalia, the National Agency for inward investment and enterprise development, fully onwed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, appointed Sergio Buonanno as new CEO.

Prior to joining Invitalia Ventures, Buonanno, who replaced Salvo Mizzi, is an experienced professionals with over 20 years of experience in Enel and other investment funds.
In 1997, he joined Enel as an R&D specialist. From 2000 to 2002, Buonanno worked as Investment Manager in Enel Capital and subsequently held various executive positions in the group, working as Enel group’s M&A team’s Manager, Head of HR Organization, Planning and Development and coordinating the reorganization of the Sales Division.
In the last ten years, he has served as Managing Director of AlAdInn Ventures, a regional venture capital fund managed by Friulia SGR, as Managing Director of IDeA energy efficiency and sustainable development Fund, managed by DeA Capital Alternative Funds SGR.

Born in Como in 1970, Buonanno graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico of Milan, where he also earned a PhD Degree in Power Systems.

Invitalia Venture SGR manages Italia Venture I, an €86.65m co-investment fund dedicated to innovative SMEs and startups.
