Goat Raises $60M in Series C Funding; Merges with Flight Club

Goat, a Los Angeles-based online sneaker marketplace, raised $60m in Series C funding.

The round was led by Index Ventures with participation from Accel, Matrix Partners, Upfront Ventures and Webb Investment Network.

The company is also merging with aftermarket sneaker retailer Flight Club and the funds will be used to accelerate the growth of Goat and Flight Club as a combined company.
Following the merger, Goat and Flight Club will continue to operate as independent brands.

Led by Eddy Lu, co-founder and CEO, Goat will continue to focus on mobile and web listings, and utilize its technology platform across the combined companies. Founded in 2015, the platform now offers a large selection of sneakers ranging from general releases to rare exclusives, a managed marketplace model, authentication service and buyer protection.
Led by Damany Weir, co-founder and president, Flight Club will continue its focus on global retail and e-commerce consignment. It also operates two brick-and-mortar locations housed in New York and Los Angeles.

In conjunction with the funding, Index Ventures’ Danny Rimer and Flight Club’s Damany Weir will join GOAT’s Board of Directors.
