DeepStream Raises $800K in Angel Funding

DeepStream, a London, UK-based B2B marketplace for the entire supply chain across the Oil & Gas industry, raised $800k in funding.

Backers included:
– Pierre Andurand (Oil Trader, Andurand Capital)
– Markus Hunold (Lending Specialist, KKR)
– John Jeffery (Lending Specialist, Apax)
– Alain Dibb (COO of Waha Capital)
– Philippe Lenoble (MD at Goldman Sachs and Dong Energy Board Member).

The company intends to use the funds to hire top talent to scale business, including the addition of senior software developers to deliver increased functionality as they scale the product, and expand outside of the North Sea to Mexico, Africa, Middle East and Asia.

Led by CEO Jack Macfarlane, investment banking, financing and VC specialist, Co-founder and Head of Business Developmen Adel Louertatani, an e-commerce entrepreneur, founder of Flubit and Africa Linked, Co-founder and Head of Industry & Sales David Carruthers, Petroleum Engineer previously at Shell, and Co-founder and CTO Yannis Drosidis, DeepStream is a technology driven B2B marketplace dedicated to the oil & gas, renewables and energy infrastructure procurement market. In particular, the platform allows buyers to find products and services transact with suppliers (including e-procurement) with an emphasis on pre qualification of suppliers using distributed ledger technology.

Launching initially in the UK, the company is set to scale to Mexico, Europe, Africa and Asia in 2018.
