BurnAlong Raises $1M in Funding

BurnAlong, an Owings Mills, Md.-based provider of a streaming fitness class platform, raised $1m in funding.

Backers included Baltimore Angels, Brown Advisory, Machem Capital and Johns Hopkins University.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by Daniel Freedman, BurnAlong provides a streaming fitness class platform which allows people to workout online with top instructors from gyms and studios across the country, on their own or live with friends they invite. The company currently partners with hundreds of local gyms, studios, and wellness professionals.

The platform, available via website, iOS and Android apps, gives three options:

  • Monthly (comes with the first month for free)
  • Annual subscription
  • Corporate Subscriptions
