Authlete Co., Ltd., a Tokyo, Japan-based OAuth 2.0 server & OpenID Connect provider, closed a US$3m Pre-Series A funding round.
Backers included Toppan Printing Co., NTT Docomo Ventures and MTI Ltd.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate adoption of its solution worldwide through sales and marketing drive.
Led by Mr. Takahiko Kawasaki, co-founder and representative director, Authlete provides OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect implementation solutions through cloud and on-premises software service integral to API (Application Programming Interface) Security.
So far, Authlete’s solutions have been used by financial institutes and healthcare providers.
Incorporated in 2015, the company is based at Finolab, a FinTech Incubation space in Tokyo. Last year, it was accepted into Level39, Europe’s largest tech community for FinTech, Cybersecurity and Smart cities in London.
