Thinkful Raises $9.6M in Series A Funding

Thinkful, a New York, NY-based edtech startup which brings universal, mentor-led learning online, $9.6M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Owl Ventures, with participation from Tribeca Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Amit Patel (Owl Ventures) and Brian Hirsch (Tribeca Venture Partners) joining Ann Miura-Ko (Floodgate), joined Thinkful’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations, grow its offering and business reach.

Led by Darrell Silver, Thinkful aims to help students gain the technical skills necessary to switch careers or advance in their current profession.
Thinkful enables students to learn at their speed with 1-on-1 mentorship from an industry expert and employers to find diverse talent.
The personal mentor is available to talk face-to-face, answer questions, and help tailor curriculum to suit schedule and specific job goals.
Courses currently include:
– Engineering Immersion
– Full Stack Flex
– Data Science, and
– Front End Development.
