Sparta Science Raises $7M in Series A Funding

Sparta Science, a Menlo Park, CA-based company that applies data and technology to the pursuit of human resilience, raised $7m in series A funding.

The round was led by Playground Global.

The company intends to use the funds to bolster further software innovation and team growth to bring its technology into clinical settings and beyond.

Led by Phil Wagner, M.D., CEO and founder, Sparta Science provides a proven injury prediction and recovery monitoring technology platform which allows coaches and trainers to measure and reduce player injury risk, increasing on-field time and decreasing costs associated with injury treatment, insurance and sidelined players.
It is used by some of the country’s top professional and collegiate sports teams, including Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Nationals, Colorado Rockies, San Jose Earthquakes, Ohio State University, Auburn, University of Kansas, University of Texas at Austin and more.
