Kinsane Entertainment, Inc., a Mumbai, India-based global digital entertainment company, raised USD$2.5m in angel funding.
Backers included Neeraj Bhargava and others.
The company will use the funds to launch 8 new shows, 100 games and 30 new characters in 2018.
Co-founded by CEO Kurt Inderbitzin, Vice President, Content, Indrani Pillai and Content Writer and Strategist Saahil Bhargava, Kinsane is a digital first company that creates content for kids aged 2-11 years in numerous languages, then distributes that content globally through a variety of advertising, subscription and transaction-based revenue models.
The company plans to create a wide variety of videos and games featuring endearing and original characters that become global, iconic brands. The goal is to take these brands, established in the digital space, and propagate them further through non-digital channels such as film, television, concerts and merchandising. The core target markets for this content are the US, Europe, India, Brazil, and China.
Kinsane’s management team also comprises Peter Lawrence, Head of Animation, Saishree Ashwin, Head of Games, Pranab Punj, Chief Marketing Officer, and Ashok Kunder, Vice President, Finance.
The company has offices in Los Angeles, New York, and Mumbai.
