Apprentice.io Raises $2.5M in Funding

Apprentice.io, a New Jersey-based industrial augmented reality platform startup, raised $2.5m in funding.

Backers included Silverton Partners and Hemi Ventures.

Co-founded in 2014 by Angelo Stracquatanio, Gary Pignata and Alexandra Buttke, Apprentice.io provides an industrial augmented reality platform that transports R&D and manufacturing operators, scientists and engineers to an enhanced reality in which they become controllers of their work environments.
The platform has three main modules – Tandem, Manuals, and BioCapture – that run on smart glasses like Microsoft HoloLens, Google Glass 2.0, Epson Moverio BT350, ODG R9 and the Vuzix M300 and provide a hands-free way to operate in laboratory and manufacturing environments.

Apprentice’s largest markets is Biopharma manufacturing, a $200 billion global industry challenged by demands for advanced research and safe product development. The platform is GMP/GLP-compliant and specifically designed for operation in a highly complex lab and research environments.
The product is currently employed by major Fortune 100 pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, consumer goods and cosmetic companies across the U.S., Asia, Europe and South America.
