uAvionix Closes $5m Funding Round

uAvionix Corporation, a Bigfork, Mont.-based provider of communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) solutions for manned and unmanned aircraft, closed a $5m round of funding.

The round was led by new investor Airbus Ventures with participation from existing investors Playground Global and Redpoint Ventures. In conjunction with the investment, Airbus Ventures CEO Thomas d’Halluin joined uAvionix’s Board of Directors.

The company, which has raised $10m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to further accelerate its product innovation and global expansion.

Led by Paul Beard, CEO, uAvionix provides communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) solutions for manned and unmanned aircraft. Since its founding in 2015, the company has launched over 20 products including ADS-B transceivers, receivers, Mode A/C/S transponders, and GNSS position sources for general aviation, drones, and airport surface vehicles for both the certified and uncertified markets.
