ReFirm Labs, a Fulton, MD-based an enterprise, consumer, and IoT security company, received $1.5m in initial funding.
Startup studio DataTribe made the investment. Additionally, John Stewart, Chief Security Officer of Cisco and Jay Emmanuel, Chief Architect at DataTribe, joined the ReFirm Labs board of directors.
Led by CEO and co-founder Terry Dunlap, CTO and co-founder Peter Eacmen, and Principal Research Engineer Craig Heffner, ReFirm is launching its Centrifuge Platform, which automatically detects security vulnerabilities in the firmware that runs billions of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, consumer electronics and other connected enterprise machines.
