Online Boat Slip Reservation Startup Snag-A-Slip Acquires Marinalife

Snag-A-Slip, a Baltimore-based online boat slip reservation company, acquired Marinalife, a source for premium content, marina information and cruising concierge services.

The amount of the deal, which follows the close of Snag-A-Slip’s $4.8M Series A round, was not disclosed.

Led by Joy McPeters, Founder and CEO, who will join Snag-A-Slip as Chief Strategy Officer, Marinalife connects more than 60,000 active boaters with thousands of marina partners across the country and beyond. Through its web, mobile and magazine platforms, the company will continue to provide boaters with detailed marina information, travel resources, itineraries and destination guides.

The acquisition will further support Snag-A-Slip’s sales and marketing efforts around the country, and in the Caribbean.

Led by Dan Cowens, Founder, Snag-A-Slip connects boaters with available slips, while also showcasing marinas via digital channels. The mobile-responsive website and mobile apps allow boaters to explore marinas by region, city or marina name and then search for slip availability based on travel dates, length, beam, draw and power requirements. Boaters can pick their preferred marina based on amenities, location and availability and book immediately with any credit card. The company’s mobile apps are now available for free download on the App Store and Google Play.
