Pasta maker Barilla has launched a new fund and innovation hub.
Based in Parma, Italy, Blu1877 combines an investment fund with an innovation hub to develop new food ecosystems that respect people and the planet.
In addition, Barilla has moved its 3D printer project to make semolina carefully crafted pasta into Blu1877 under the name BluRhapsody.
Led by CEO & President Victoria Spadaro Grant, who is also CTO of Barilla, Blu1877 aims to innovate in such areas as backery products, pasta, condiments, fruit based products, sustainable diets, mediterranean diet, and meal solutions.
The team also includes Franco Ferrarini, Michela Petronio, and Giancarlo Addario.
