Backplane, a San Francisco, CA-based platform for companies to manage software deployments, raised $5m in seed funding.
The round was led by Baseline Ventures and Harrison Metal Capital.
The company intends to use the funds for continued growth.
Led by Founder Blake Mizerany, Backplane provides a network and APIs to bind services, applications, and their end-users that exist anywhere in a secure way, without additional infrastructure, provisioning, or glue-code to keep them together.
The company manages, routes, shapes, and secures traffic to every application in any environment.
Clients include Turner Broadcasting, Mux, Kickoff Labs, among others.
