Tulip Raises $40M in Series B Funding

Tulip, a NYC-based mobile application platform built exclusively for retail stores and sales associates, raised $40m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers with participation from existing investor Jump Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Mood Rowghani, General Partner at Kleiner Perkins, will join Tulip’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds for international growth and innovation.

Led by Ali Asaria, CEO, Tulip is a mobile application provider focused on empowering workers in retail stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Kate Spade, Coach, Frye Boots, Bonobos, and Toys”R”Us. Partnered with Apple, Tulip leverages advanced mobile technology to deliver apps for store associates to lookup products, manage customer information, check out shoppers, and communicate with clients.
Already deployed across 25 countries and in 7 languages, the company is seeing increasing demand for its offering in Europe, South America and Asia.
