Monta Vista Capital to Raise $30M Second Early Stage Venture Capital Fund

Monta Vista Capital, a Sunnyvale, CA-based venture capital firm, is to raise its second fund.

Per an SEC filing, Monta Vista Capital II, L.P. is seeking to raise $30m. No funds have been raised, yet.

Led by General Partner Venktesh Shukla, Partners Nimish Mehta and Prashant Shah and venture associate Akshay Oberai, Monta Vista Capital is an institutional investor focusing on early stage B2B companies that possess strong industry transforming IP, as well as founding teams who are subject matter experts.
​The firm takes a hands-on approach by assisting portfolio companies in obtaining their first three customers, leverages a wide network featuring experts in every industry to whom they turn during the due diligence process and professional relationships with various C-level executives from the retail, technology, finance, and healthcare sectors, among others.
Monta Vista makes $100K to $1M investments with an average ticket size of $700k.

Portfolio companies include Xcalar, Patternex, Robin, OmniDesign, Sarvint, Captiv8, Aviatrix, etc.
