FilmTrack Raises Additional $5.5M from Series C Funding

FilmTrack, a Studio City, Calif.-based end-to-end rights management solution, secured $5.5m in Series C funding.

Insight Venture Partners made the investment, which brought total equity raised to date to over $40m.

The company intends to use the funds for major product enhancements – including an enhanced UI/UX, expanded reporting and analytics tools, and a deepening of the finance and accounting capabilities.

Founded in 1996 by Jason Kassin, CEO, FilmTrack provides a SaaS based rights management solution for media and entertainment companies to manage and monetize their intellectual property, including contracts, rights, royalties, financials, and asset management, in one solution.
The funding round follows some milestones, including the complete integration of acquired Jaguar functionality into their unified code base, allowing deeper financial capabilities pertaining to Royalties and Participations, contracting enterprise clients including NBCU, CBS, Scripps, and DHX, and full integration with EIDR, the Entertainment Identification Registry, and GoodData, a provider of business intelligence for data monetization.
