Stellex Capital Management, a New York and London, UK-based middle-market private equity firm, closed its inaugural fund, at $870m.
Led by Founding Partners Ray Whiteman and Michael Stewart, Stellex Capital Partners, LP, has a strategy that executes control-oriented middle market investments through structured private equity buyouts or purchases of secondary market debt.
The firm primarily focuses on manufacturing and service businesses within sectors such as automotive, aerospace, building products, defense, industrial equipment, metal fabrication and transportation. The target investment size is $25m to $100m, with additional capacity as needed.
Prior to forming Stellex, both Whiteman and Stewart were Partners of The Carlyle Group and Co-heads of Carlyle Strategic Partners.
