Lastline Secures $28.5M in Series C Funding

Lastline, Inc., a Redwood City, Calif.-based advanced malware protection platform provider, secured $28.5m in Series C funding.

The round was led by Thomvest Ventures with participation from Osage University Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Barracuda Networks, Inc., NTT Finance Corporation, and WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. In conjunction with the funding, Thomvest Ventures Partner Umesh Padval and AlienVault President & CEO Barmak Meftah joined Lastline’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its next phase of growth through a go-to-market strategy focusesing on sales and marketing expansion and bolstering its development organization.

Led by Christopher Kruegel, co-founder & CEO, Lastline provides an advanced malware detection solution, which enables companies to protect themselves against persistent threats, targeted attacks, and evasive malware. Regardless of evasion techniques, the solution analyzes network activity and detects malware already active on a company’s network to provide the threat visibility and context needed to respond quickly and effectively to malicious activity before damaging and costly data breaches occur.
