Cover Raises $11M in Seed and Series A Rounds

Cover, a San Francisco advisor for insurance and benefits on mobile, raised $11M in Seed and Series A rounds of funding.

Social Capital led the most recent financing. Arjun Sethi, founder of Lolapps, MessageMe, purveyor of sound advice and Partner at Social Capital, joined Cover’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and continue to develop the tech platform.

Led by Tommy Zhang, Natalie Gray, Karn Saroya, Ben Aneesh, and Anand Dhillon, Cover is an advisor for insurance and benefits on mobile having handled requests for about anything it can insure – cars, homes, pets, jewelry, farm animals, tanks, etc.
The company has processed more than 90,000 requests for insurance through its apps in less than a year.
Cover, which is now licensed to sell insurance across the United States directly, working with nearly 30 insurance carriers, is advacing computer vision capabilities to allow cosnumers to auto-detect, identify, and catalogue their property against an existing policy, or a new one if they need it. It will also setup price drop alerts on any policy, and port the insurance on credit cards to Cover.
