Obsidian Security Raises $9.5M in Series A Funding

Obsidian Security, a Newport Beach, Calif.-based AI powered cybersecurity company focused on hybrid-cloud environments, raised $9.5M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Greylock Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Asheem Chandna and Sarah Guo from Greylock Partners will join Obsidian Security’s board.

The company will use the funds to grow its product team.

Led by CEO Glenn Chisholm, former EVP product organization and CTO at Cylance and CISO at Telstra; CTO Ben Johnson, former co-founder and CTO at Carbon Black, and computer scientist at the NSA; and Matt Wolff, former Chief Data Scientist at Cylance and computer scientist at the NSA, Obsidian Security is applying artificial intelligence to enable user security for enterprise hybrid-cloud environments.
