Minima Processor Raises €5.5M in Two‐Stage Seed Funding

Minima Processor, an Oulu and Espoo, Finland-based microprocessor technology company, raised €5.5m in a two‐stage seed funding.

Backers included Lifeline Ventures, VTT Ventures, CFT Nordic Capital, Aalto University, and a group of angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to improve the technology and continue searching more partners from three continents.

Led by Toni Soini, CEO, and CTO Lauri Koskinen, Minima offers microprocessor technology that can be used in almost all devices to make digital computing more energy efficient than current solutions. Applications for the patented technology, based on the optimization of microprocessors’ operating points, are broad due to the fact that it can be used in almost all electronic devices.
It is added to integrated digital computing microchips before manufacturing. The company delivers and licences its technology to other semiconductor companies. These companies then integrate the technology into their products. In the initial phase, Minima is targeting energy saving solutions for data processing in IoT devices. In the future, its operations will be expanded into other market areas.
