Common Networks Raises $7M in Series A Funding

Common Networks, a San Francisco, CA-based software-driven wireless internet service provider, raised $7m in Series A funding.

Backers included Eclipse Ventures and Lux Capital.

The company, which had previously raised $2.3m in seed funding in 2016 led by Eclipse, will use the funds to continue to expand operations.

Led by Zach Brock, Founder and CEO, Common Networks, Common Networks delivers high speed last-mile wireless internet access to suburban neighborhoods using software-defined networking (SDN) to manage the network’s peer-to-peer architecture. The company uses proprietary software to build a wireless internet infrastructure without the cost associated with setting up service in suburban density areas.
Common Networks’ custom routing protocol and distributed monitoring system continuously ensures every customer gets the fastest and most reliable path to the internet.
