Cloudflare Launches $100M Venture Capital Fund

Cloudflare, a San Francisco, CA-based internet performance and security company, has launched an $100m venture capital fund.

Backed by New Enterprise Associates, Venrock and Pelion Venture Partners, the Cloudflare Developer Fund will invest in startups building applications on Cloudflare Apps Platform.

Cloudflare Apps is a free platform that enables developers to build applications that leverage Cloudflare’s global infrastructure and distribute them to the more than six million users on the company’s network. It is a collection of APIs that allows developers to build applications that take advantage Cloudflare’s global network infrastructure, deploy their applications to its customers, and get paid for the applications they have built.

In addition to distributing apps to users on Cloudflare’s network, companies will have the opportunity to receive a cash investment, marketing support, and technical advice from participating venture capital partners.

Today more than 50 applications are available for anyone using the Cloudflare Apps platform, including those from Twitter, Pinterest, Spotify, Zendesk, and VigLink.
