WinView Raises $12M in Series B Funding

WinView, Inc., a San Francisco, CA- and New York based second-screen live TV sports prediction platform, raised $12m in Series B funding.

Backers included Graham Holdings Company (NYSE: GHC), Discovery Communications (NASDAQ: DISCA), Ted Leonsis’ Monumental Sports & Entertainment, Zach Leonsis, and LionTree Partners.

The company will use the funds to further develop and market its skill-based mobile app across a range of professional sports, including baseball, basketball and football (MLB, NBA and NFL).

Led by David Lockton, founder and CEO, and Tom Rogers, Executive Chairman, WinView focuses on free mobile two-screen synchronized televised sports games for prizes in the U.S. The WinView app is a two-screen TV synchronization platform for both television programming and commercials, which enhances TV viewing enjoyment and rewards sports fans with prizes as they answer in-game questions while competing with friends in real time during live televised sports.

Launched in 2014, the company previously raised $8m.
