Vinci Raises Multi-Million Series A Funding

Vinci, a Beijing, China-based provider of AI powered smart headphones, received a multi-million USD Series A round of funding.

Backers included SkyChee Ventures which joined existing shareholders Ferry Venture Capital and Weixing Chen.

The company intends to use the funds to launch its brand internationally and conduct research into users’ artificial intelligence experience.

Led by David Zhu, Founder and CEO, Vinci has created an independent voice first computing device that plays music locally. By using voice commands, consumers are able to search for songs and scroll through their music collection without looking at the device. It also combines Spotify/SoundCloud/Amazon music recommendations with personalized real-time preferences based on heart rate, activities, and the user’s surroundings.
In November 2016, Vinci Smart Headphones raised nearly $1m through 4,885 individual backers via global crowdfunding site Kickstarter.

The company has an overseas office in New York.
