Prezi Acquires Online Data Visualization Company Infogram

Prezi, a San Francisco, CA-based visual presentation platform company, acquired Infogram, a Riga, Latvia-based web-based data visualization company.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed. Following the acquisition, Infogram will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Prezi and will remain in Latvia. It will continue to invest in research and development and create a Data Visualization Center of Excellence in Latvia.

Founded in 2012 and led by Mikko Järvenpää, CEO, Infogram specializes in charts and infographics with a community of over 3 million users who have created over 5 million charts and infographics viewed over 1.5 billion times.
Customers, including media companies, businesses, and educational institutions can create a variety of charts, maps, and infographics by uploading a file, connecting to various cloud services, and to Infogram’s API.
It also has offices in San Francisco.

Prezi is the most successful startup that incubated in Hungary and bridged that success to create a global company with offices in San Francisco, Budapest and Mexico City.

Founded in 2009 in Budapest by Peter Arvai, CEO, Prezi operates a presentation platform that enables users to encourage conversation and collaboration. Its latest offering, Prezi Next, is a full-lifecycle presentation platform that allows everyone to create presentations, deliver them in a natural and conversational way, and analyze their effectiveness.
It now has a community of over 85 million users and over 325 million presentations around the world.
Investors include Accel Partners, Spectrum Equity, and TED conferences.
