CloudFactory, a Durham, NC-based cloud labor company, raised $7.3m in Series B funding.
Backers included Dolma Impact Fund and The Social Entrepreneurs’ Fund.
The company intends to use the funds to hire for a variety of strategic positions, and invest further into R&D.
Led by Mark Sears, Founder and CEO, CloudFactory has launched WorkStreams™, monthly workforce subscriptions that include a vetted, remote team that is equipped with the tools and technology needed to scale a business process in the cloud. Applications include tech companies developing products requiring human-powered features such as document transcription, or require human-trained algorithms such as the AI in self-driving cars.
