Sensoro Raises $18M in Series B Funding

Sensoro, a Seattle, WA-based Internet of Things (IoT) sensor device and network technology company, raised $18m in Series B funding.

Backers included Bosch, Sumitomo and Tsing Capital.

Founded in 2013 as part of the Microsoft Accelerator program. Led by Vivian Li, Co-Founder and CSO, Sensoro manufactures beacon devices that collect and send information based on proximity and wireless sensor networks that aggregate digital data from the physical world for IoT applications.
Its Alpha Product Suite provides long-range, low-power solutions for large-scale IoT sensor networks focusing on environmental monitoring and asset tracking fields.

The company is now providing the IoT technology for various smart city projects in the UK, Europe, Malaysia, and China delivering environmental monitoring and asset tracking for Manchester City Verve, STORM, Putrajaya – Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), and Nanjing China, Fire Safety Department.
It anticipates producing and shipping over 100,000 environmental related devices and 500,000 asset tracking tags in 2017 to support infrastructure in cities, buildings, and industries including manufacturing, oil and gas, warehousing, logistics, fleet management, and retail.
