Mux Raises $9M in Series A Funding

Mux, Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based performance analytics provider for video developers and media publishers, secured $9m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Accel which joined a number of existing investors Y Combinator, Susa Ventures, Advancit Capital, SV Angel, Lowercase Capital, Liquid 2 Ventures, Pathbreaker Ventures, Ilya Sukhar and James Lindenbaum. In conjunction with the funding, Daniel Levine of Accel will join Mux’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations.

Led by Jon Dahl, CEO and co-founder, Mux offers real-time performance monitoring and analytics for video streaming, enabling publishers to deliver better quality of experience to their viewers via running A/B tests, measuring CDN or video player performance in order to make more informed buying decisions, empowering customer support with insight into individual viewing sessions, or tracking (and fixing) hard-to-find errors.
Customers include PBS, IGN, Livestream, Wistia, and Funny or Die.
