Pepper Raises $8.5M in Series B Funding

Pepper, a Kansas City Mo.-based IoT platform and service provider, raised $8.5m in Series B funding.

Backers included Leawood Ventures, the KCRise Fund, Royal Street Ventures, OpenAir Equity Partners and Comporium Communications.

The company intends to use the funds to launch several consumer IoT products.

Led by Scott Ford, chief executive officer, and Mark Rolston, chief creative officer, Pepper partners with companies like insurance carriers, utilities, telecom providers which want to develop services that incorporate strategic IoT and connected home solutions.
The company has just launched its Pepper IoT operating system, powering a new generation of IoT and connected home services.
