Light Polymers Raises $24.3m in Series A Funding

light_polymersLight Polymers, a South San Francisco, CA-based nanochemistry startup, raised $24.3m in Series A funding.

The round was led by a consortium of private investors.

The company intends to use the funds for R&D expansion and commercialization for its OLED display chemistry and for a planned acquisition.

Founded in January 2013 and led by Marc McConnaughey, President and CEO, Light Polymers is a nanochemistry company with deep domain knowledge of lyotropic liquid crystals, which has use in many applications including LCD and OLED flat panel displays, LED lighting, advanced building materials and biomedical applications.

The company has R&D operations in Silicon Valley, Taiwan and Korea.
