Joyme Capital Launches $360M Video Game Investment Fund

joyme_capitalJoyme Capital, a Seattle, WA-based independent operating unit of China’s Joyme Group, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Kee Ever Bright Technology to establish an investment fund.

The fund, which will be held in limited partnership between the two firms, has an initial target fund size of USD$140m (1 billion RMB), set to grow to USD$360m (3 billion RMB).
The fund will focus on investment opportunities in game development, game distribution, e-sports and other businesses related to the creation and publishing of mobile and PC video games.

The Joyme portfolio includes:
– Joyme Wiki, a large community site for game-related user generated content (UGC)
– Joyme Laiwan, a technology partnership with Youku Tudou, which lets players upload video from mobile games to Youku Tudou
– Heyijoy, a game development and publishing partnership with Youku Tudou and Alibaba.
