Canon Europe Acquires Kite.ly

Canon Europe acquired Kite.ly, a London, UK-based mobile ecommerce platform specializing in personalised print.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition will enable Canon to offer an extended print ecosystem and expand its digital services offering. Kite.ly is joining Canon’s group of companies and brands that offer complementary digital services, including Lifecake and irista, helping the company create a complete imaging ecosystem for consumers – from capture, reliving, sharing and printing, via mobile apps and websites. The acquisition will also allow Canon’s B2B partners and customers to explore new business opportunities, whilst retailers will be able to offer a complete end-to-end online personalized print solution to their customers, both online and in-store.

Founded in London in 2013 by co-founders Fionn Concannon, Deon Botha, Charlie Carpenter and Black Ocean, a Luxembourg based investment group, Kite.ly is a mobile eCommerce platform for developers and brands to create revenue through personalized print. The company’s advanced SDKs are integrated into over 500 consumer-facing apps and websites, reaching a base of over 200 million mobile users worldwide.
