Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), a provider of Content Delivery Network (CDN) services, is to acquire Soasta, a Mountain View, California-based provider of a digital performance management platform.
The amount of the all-cash deal was not disclosed.
Led by Tom Lounibos, CEO, Soasta provides online businesses with a unified platform for measurement, testing and analysis that delivers performance insights across both technology and business contexts.
Through the deal, Akamai plans to add several new capabilities to its Web Performance Solutions portfolio. Akamai customers will have improved ability to accurately measure how real users experience their applications, how that experience impacts their behavior, in order to prioritize and implement the most impactful performance optimization strategies.
Through Soasta solutions, Akamai customers will then be able to test optimizations at scale prior to deployment and validate the business impact of those optimizations once they are live in production. The result is a comprehensive set of cloud-based performance and business outcome optimization solutions.
The closing of the transaction is expected to occur early in the second quarter of 2017.
