Xenex Raises $38M in Funding

Xenex_LogoLockups_PantoneCXenex Disinfection Services, a San Antonio, TX-based manufacturer of healthcare room disinfection system, received $38m in funding.

The round was led by Essex Woodlands (EW), with new participation from Piper Jaffray Merchant Banking and existing investors Malin Corporation and Tectonic Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its sales force, product development, scientific research and international expansion.

Led by Morris Miller, CEO, Xenex has developed a patented pulsed xenon Full Spectrum UV room disinfection system, which is a pesticidal device used for the advanced cleaning of healthcare facilities. Xenex LightStrike Germ-Zapping Robots destroy the microscopic germs that may be missed during the manual cleaning process by using pulsed an environmentally-friendly noble gas.

According to customers, with a four or five-minute disinfection cycle (depending on robot model), the robot can disinfect 30-62 hospital rooms per day, including patient rooms, operating rooms, equipment rooms, emergency rooms, intensive care units and public areas.
