Kwipped Receives More Than $700k in Series A Funding

KWIPPEDKwipped, Inc., a Wilmington, NC-based online B2B equipment rental marketplace, received more than $700k in Series A funding.

VentureSouth, an early stage investment firm, made the investment.

The company plans to leverage the funds to substantially expand its marketing efforts, and to add sales and technology staff.

Led by CEO and Co-Founder Robert Preville, Kwipped operates an online platform that facilitates equipment rentals between businesses and organizations in more than 500 equipment categories across 22 different industries including medical and laboratory, audio-visual, construction, surveying, film production, power utility and more.
The company currently has nearly 500 registered equipment suppliers and more than 2100 registered rental customers, including well-known brands and organizations like: Apple, Inc., The Coca Cola Company, Siemens, Sherwin-Williams, The United States Navy, Under Armor, BASF, Leica Geosystems, General Dynamics, The University of Chicago Medical Center and The US Forest Service.
