Backers included Amazon Alexa Fund, Deutsche Telekom, BC Tech Fund, BDC Capital and Relay Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its engineering talent in Palo Alto, Prague and Vancouver to support additional launches with wireless operators in 2017.
Founded in 2012 and led by CEO Kenny Hawk, Mojio is advancing an hardware agnostic, cloud-based connected car platform featuring several tools to launch secure, branded connected car apps and services for enterprise customers, including wireless operators, auto manufacturers, car dealers, insurers and fleets.
The company provides the platform and mobile app behind T-Mobile SyncUP DRIVE, the Un-carrier’s all-in-one connected car solution that launched nationwide on November 18th.
