Vision Care Startup Sightbox Raises $1.8M in Funding

sightboxSightbox, a Portland, Ore.-based vision care startup, raised $1.8m in funding.

The round was led by Rogue Venture Partners – an Oregon based venture capital fund, with participation from Jumpstart Foundry, Portland Seed Fund and VistaRiver Healthcare Solutions.

Founded by Travis Rush, a 15-year veteran of the vision industry, Sightbox provides a solution for people who wear contact lenses, which combines vision insurance, online retail, and customer service while generating new business for the more than 50,000 local optometry businesses across the US.
The company, which currently markets the annual membership service, $39 per month, to individual contact lens wearers, will also begin offering membership enrollment options through employers, with plans offered alongside other more traditional health and vision benefits.

The new funding will assist in this expansion.
