Vector Space Systems Raises $1.25M in Seed Funding

vector_spaceVector Space Systems, a Tucson, Ariz.-based micro satellite space launch company, raised an additional $1.25m in angel funding.

The round was led by Space Angels Network.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development efforts.

Led by Jim Cantrell, CEO and co-founder, Vector Space Systems connects space startups and innovators with launch services  enabling platforms and vehicles to access space at an affordable price. Its vehicle family include Vector-R (Rapide), for rapid and frequent launch of payloads weighing up to 50 kg, and Vector-H (Heavy), a larger vehicle based on the Vector-R design but capable of deploying 100kg class satellites into LEO and launching small deep space missions.

The first Vector-R Block 0 launch is scheduled for Q4 2017 and commercial flights begin in early 2018 with the Vector-R Block 1 launch vehicles.  The Vector-H Block-0 vehicle is slated to launch in Q2 2019 with commercial operations of the Vector-H Block-1 beginning mid 2019.
